During the Fall of 2022, I worked as a Web Design Intern at the Design and Branding Company focusing on the design and development of SaaS (software-as-a service) websites. Working alongside the Deputy Minister of Web Design and Development, I was tasked with the exploration of SaaS sites and the creation of different blocks to lay out information for a future project. I experimented with hierarchy, grid structure, icons, and image treatments to display information in a clean, digestible manner.
My role: UX Researcher, UX/UI Designer
Team: Genevieve Ali - Deputy Minister of Web Design & Development
The Design and Branding Company
The Process - Overview
I began the process by researching successful SaaS websites and keeping a log of the standout elements from each one. Afterwards, I sketched out web pages using the elements from my research, created wireframes and mockups, and handed off the materials for development.
Initial Sketches
Below are my sketches of 18 potential web page layouts. Whether they were ready to design for a "Solutions," "About Us," or "Careers" page, I created numerous options for any desired layout.

Wireframes
After my sketches were complete and reviewed by the team, I translated them into 18 wireframes using Adobe XD. The team wasn't set on the typeface/color palettes for this project at the time, so I created neutral wireframes using a B&W palette.

Mockups, Handoff, and Next Steps
I then created mockups of what a potential site could look like with several of these layouts stacked together, and sent them to begin development.
My internship with DBC ended before the project's completion, but I'm proud of how much I was able to accomplish during one semester. If I had more time, my next steps would've been creating an interactive prototype and assisting with development. I look forward to seeing my ideas come to life whenever they may be implemented in the future.
